Adiantum aleuticum

The delicate Maidenhair
Fern is a Northwestern native that brings grace and elegance to the garden.
In my area they grow wild along the steep shady banks of the country road
near my property. I've transplanted specimens to my garden quite successfully,
and enjoy watching their jet-black stems and lacy foliage unfurl in the
Spring. The plants are beautiful combined with hostas and other shade loving
plants. They form vase-shaped clumps up to 2 feet high.
