" To be rooted is perhaps the most important

A beautiful garden is more than a mere collection of plants and a garden design is more than choosing plants and deciding where to place them. In my opinion, the most important aspect of landscape design is function. Function, or how you intend to use your landscape, is a very personal decision, and differs greatly from one person to the next. Some may be interested in recreation, some in relaxation and retreat, while others want spaces for entertainment or children's play. And some of us want it all! My job is to help you consider your wants and needs for your outdoor space, and to come up with the best solution. When a landscape is complete it should feel like an extension of your home.I was born and raised in the very small town of Applegate, Oregon. Growing up in such a rural location,I fostered a great appreciation for nature and the outdoors. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies and Geography from Southern Oregon University, and soon after moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. While Wyoming doesn't have the ideal climate for gardening, I have yet to see such striking landscapes.
I moved back to Oregon in 2003 to pursue my interest in landscape design. In 2006, while employed as a Horticulturalist for Columbia Edgewater Country Club, I finished a two year certification in Landscape Design from Portland Community College.
